Austin was born February 13, 2007, in Cedar Rapids, son to Tyler and Amanda (Boville) Speidel. He graduated with honors from Kennedy High School in 2025. Austin loved hunting, fishing, playing video games, traveling, and eating junk food. He was an Eagle Scout, member of the Venture Crew, and played for the Iowa Heartlanders High School Hockey Team, where he earned accolades for being one of the fastest skaters and top goal scorers in the Iowa High School Hockey Alliance League.

Austin was one of the most compassionate and kind souls you could ever meet. He made a positive impact on the many scouts and youth he mentored and on everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. He spent countless hours volunteering and was always quick to say, “Thank you.”
