Arron Nichols

April 6, 2005 ~ July 31, 2024

Arron William Nichols, 19, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, was called home on Wednesday, July 31, 2024. He left this earth peacefully surrounded by loved ones in the comfort of his home. Services will be at Stewart Baxter Funeral & Memorial Services, Cedar Rapids, on Saturday, August 17, at 11:00 AM with a visitation an hour prior at 10:00 AM. A luncheon will follow at 1:00 p.m. at St Mark's Lutheran Church, 8300 C Avenue Marion, Iowa 52302. Arron was born April 6, 2005, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, to Megan and Charles Nichols. Megan later married the love of her life, Jacob Long, and Arron not only gained a loving and caring dad, but a best friend. Arron has a sister, Adelynn, and a half-brother Jayden. Adelynn would like everyone to know that Arron loved watching the Price is Right and Deal or no Deal. He loved Elmo's happy dance and Mickey Mouse's hot diggity dog! Arron loved to laugh and had the best sense of humor. He found humor in the most ordinary and obnoxious things. When his sister Adelynn was a baby, he loved to lay on the floor and hold her hand and watch her play. When you hear about someone lighting up a room, he did it best! Arron attended school at College Community, Benton Community and LinnMar, where he graduated from this year.He loved his teachers over the years and knew exactly how to tell them to 'buzz off'. Arron formed a special bond with Sheila who brough such love and compassion to Arron's world. There aren't enough words to express how special Sheila is to the whole family. Arron smiled with his whole face. He loved music; Taylor Swift and silly songs were his favorite's. He loved to go outside, and it is no wonder since watching Joe Winters on KCRG was one of his favorite pastimes. He was feisty, but never had a rainy day. Arron lived life to the fullest, enjoying his friends, family, walks, and loud obnoxious toys that were modified by Jacob, who was born to be his dad. He spoke more with his heart than most of us share with words. The world will never be the same nor would we want it to be. Arron was preceded in death by his father, Charles Nichols; cousin, Angelice Buhr; aunt, Tabitha Green; and great grandmother, Verna Hayes. Arron is survived by his parents, Megan and Jacob Long; sister Adelynn Long; half-brother, Jayden Nichols; grandparents, Laura and Rich Hayes, Steve and Trish Blegen, John and Carol Nichols, and Kevin and Candy Long; great grandparents, Edward and Deanna Blegen; many aunts, uncles and cousins; dog, Maggie; and bearded dragon, Mr. Lizard. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family. Arron has left an immeasurable and profound mark on all those who knew him. Walk, run, fly high Bug Bug we will miss you.
