Ann Niehaus, 84, passed away on Thursday, September 11, 2025, at Lisbon Rehabilitation Center, Lisbon, Iowa. Gathering of Friends and Family will be held from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 17, 2025, at Stewart Baxter Funeral & Memorial Services, Mount Vernon.
Ann was born on May 4, 1941, in Davenport, Iowa, the daughter of James and Ruth (Lynch) McCutcheon. A devoted farm wife, she found great joy in caring for the farm, tending her garden, and sharing her love of baking. Ann cherished animals, especially her dogs and livestock. She also enjoyed watching sports, reading, knitting, and staying active through water aerobics and yoga.
She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Fred; daughter, Heidi (Mark); sons, Phillip (Amy) and Todd; grandchildren, Clayton (Christina), LiliaAna (Josh), Hannah, Grace (Daniel), Jonathon (Lexi), Zach (Lexi), Lizzy (Kale), and Josie; and great-grandchildren, Casen, Cecelia, Callie, Scarlett, Sage, Summer, Liberty, Judah, Marian, Kolton, Luke, and Taytum.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
The family extends a special Thank You to the Rehabilitation Center of Lisbon for the exceptional care that Ann was given.
