Allen Paul Loehr, 74 of Lisbon, died Saturday, May 04, 2013, at the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House, Hiawatha. Paul's Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m., Wednesday at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Mount Vernon by the Reverend Jack Flaherty. The family will greet friends from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. with a Vigil Prayer Service at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday at Morgan Funeral and Cremation Choices and from 9:00 a.m. until service time at the Church on Wednesday. Burial will be in Springville Cemetery. Surviving Paul are his wife of fifty-four years Dorothy; and his children: Roger (Jolene), Wyoming, Jeff, West Branch, Debra (Thomas) Applebee, Cedar Rapids, Dan, Lisbon, John (Nenita), Cedar Rapids, Judy (Fernando) Gil Pavia, Waterloo, Ed (Leanne), Cedar Rapids, and Julie (Raymond) Osten, Cedar Rapids; and many grandchildren and great grandchildren; and one brother James, Hale. Preceding Paul in death were his parents, two sons Theodore and Ronnie. He was born September 29, 1938, in Anamosa, the sone of George and Bessie Underwood Loehr. Paul worked various jobs retiring after 26 years from Amana Refrigeration. He was a member of the Teamsters Union Local #1526 of Conroy and St. John the Baptist Catholic Church Mount Vernon. Paul enjoyed fishing, camping, and motorcycling. He was a hard working man who was dedicated to his family. A memorial fund in Paul's honor has been established. You have my sincere condolences on the passing of Allen your husband,father and on 22 Feb son Ron. I am Clara and Kellie’s grandfather. Clara was named after her gr grandmother Clara Schrobilgen. I have pictures of them and happy memories of them and would still love to be part of their lives. At 76 yuo never know.
