Terry L. Flynn 64 of Mechanicsville, died Sunday August 7, 2005 in the Mechanicsville Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Mechanicsville from complications from a stroke. Services 11:00 a.m., Thursday in the Morgan Funeral and Cremation Choices, Mount Vernon Chapel, where friends may call Wednesday, from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m., in the chapel. Graveside services 1:00 p.m., Thursday in Rose Hill Cemetery, Mechanicsville. Surviving Terry are his brother Marlin and wife Barbara of Mechanicsville, his wife Janice Hoy Flynn and a son Scott and wife Monica Flynn, both of Marion, Texas, his mother Ruth Flynn of Mechanicsville, three grandchildren, and a special friend Sharon Scholl of Mechanicsville. Preceding Terry in death were his father Ed and a son Craig Flynn. Terry was born May 8, 1941, at Toledo, Iowa, the oldest son of Ed and Ruth Becker Flynn. He graduated from Mechanicsville High School in 1959. While serving with the U.S. Air Force, in Texas, Terry married Janice Hoy April 7, 1965 in Tipton. After his discharge in 1967, they returned to Mechanicsville where he operated Madison Street Welding. They moved back to Texas in 1977 where Terry worked for the Air Force Civil Service, retiring to Mechanicsville in 1997. Terry's passion was building street rods.
