Stanley Johnston

Stan M. Johnston, 62, a longtime resident of Marion, Iowa, died on Sunday, May 9, 2021. He was born on December 1, 1958, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the son of Norman and Jeanne (Evans) Johnston. Stan was an electrical engineer at Linn County REC for 25 years and retired in 2016. Stan also was the owner/electrician for Johnston Electric. He enjoyed his family, friends and his business and helping others.
Stan is survived by two children, Mark C. Johnston of Cedar Rapids, and Nathan (Kimberly) Fiser of Parnell, Iowa; three grandchildren, Hailee, Lexie and Gavin Fiser; his mother, Helen "Jeanne" Krieg; brothers, Allyn, Kevin, David (Sheri), and Billy Johnston; and sister, Erin Nelson.
Stan is preceded in death by his father, Norman E. Johnston and step father, Lee A. Krieg.
Visitation: 2-5 p.m. on Saturday, May 15, 2021, at Stewart Baxter Funeral & Memorial Services, 1000 13th Street, Marion, Iowa, with a memorial service beginning at 5 p.m.

Stan was a very active and valued member of our Iowa Chapter of the International Association of Electrical Inspectors (IAEI). He served on the Board of Directors for several years and was a Past President of our state chapter.
