Robert Allen "Bob" Hicks, 49, of Lisbon, formerly of St. Joseph, Missouri, died Saturday, April 1, 2006, in the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, Iowa City, from a long illness. A Celebration of Life service will be at 1:30 p.m., Saturday by the Reverend Harold Scheer. (4- 8-2006) The family will greet friends from 11:00 a.m. until service time Saturday in the funeral home. Graveside services will be 4:00 p.m. Sunday (4-9-2006) with military honors, in Resthaven Memorial Cemetery, at Trenton, Missouri. Surviving Bob are is wife Christina and a son Charley of Lisbon; two brothers Russell of Trenton, Missouri and twin brother Cecil of St. Joseph, Missouri; a sister Frances Griffin of Chillicothe, Missouri; and many nieces and nephews. Preceding Bob in death were his parents. Bob was born, August 9, 1956 in Bethany, Missouri, the son of Charles and Mildred Harris Hicks. He graduated from Trenton High School in 1974. Bob served 17 years in the U. S. Army. Bob and Christina "Chrissy" Waggoner, his wife and companion of 17 years, were married in St. Joseph. His work at Quaker Oats brought the couple from Missouri to Cedar Rapids in 2000. Bob was a gentle soul and had a kind heart, cherishing his family above all. He enjoyed animals especially feeding the rabbits at work. Bob was a very generous and loving man who will be greatly missed.
