June 2, 1959 ~ June 18, 2022

Randy 'Rudy' Osborn, 63, of Mount Vernon, IA, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family, Saturday June 18, 2022 of Esophageal Cancer. Celebration of Life: 4:00 P.M. Saturday June 25, 2022 at the Stewart Baxter Funeral and Memorial Service in Mount Vernon. Celebrant Dawn Stephens will officiate. Visitation and viewing: 2:00 ' 4:00 P.M. prior to service at the funeral home. Inurnment will take place in the Lisbon Cemetery 10:30 A.M. Monday June 27, 2022. Stewart Baxter Funeral & Memorial Services, Mount Vernon is caring for Randy and his family. Family and friends are invited to Whiteys on Highway 30 Lisbon for a reception following the service. Randy is survived by his wife of 36 years, Chris; three children, Bryan of Brandon, IA, Michelle, Aaron (Ashley Reynolds) both of Mount Vernon; four grandchildren, Emmy, Carson, Adaline, and Alivia; his father, Frank Osborn of Mount Vernon; siblings, Rick (Cindy) Osborn of Lisbon, IA, Rhonda (John) Mont of Aurora, IL; Aunt Pat McQuillen of Moscow, IA; Brother-in-law, Matthew (Kathy) Kinley of Cedar Rapids, IA; Sister-in-law, Katey Kinley of St. Paul, MN; and several Nieces, Nephews and Cousins. He was preceded in death by his mother, Crystal J. (Carmer) Osborn and in-laws, Hubert and Grace Kinley; Sister-in-law, Susan Kinley, and brother-in-law, Dan Kinley. Randy was born June 2, 1959 in Cedar Rapids, the son of Frank and Crystal Osborn. Randy graduated from Mount Vernon High School in 1977. After graduating Randy found employment at Wilson's/Farmstead Foods until it's closing. Randy then began his career in the overhead garage door business. Randy was the one constant through the years as the business changed hands from Eastern Iowa Door to Wayne Dalton, to Adams Door, until his retirement. Rudy had a heart of gold, who would do anything for anyone. He was in his element in the great outdoors, enjoying camping, mushroom hunting, fishing, deer hunting, as well as coyote hunting, and playing cards at the Chub Lodge. His most treasured moments were of his fishing trips with best friend, John Niederhauser on the Kenai River in Alaska After his retirement, his greatest joy was spending time with his grandchildren. A memorial fund has been established in Randy's name and may be directed to his family.   3. I’m going to miss Rudy, he was a great guy with a huge heart.. I had some good weekends at DC’s cabin on the Cedar River with him running lines for flathead catfish. This photo from 2019 was one of our best weekends. He was always there for a good coyote hunt. Thanks for the great memories rude dog you will be greatly missed by all of us from the chub lodge.   4. What a great friend. Ditto what Wes posted. In addition, his outdoor skills were incredible and he had the desire n drive to do what he enjoyed. I got a plethora of fishing, coyote hunting, deer hunting, etc. stories that will be remembered by many. He had a golden heart. Gonna miss him a lot. Thanks for all the great times Rude Dog!

  6. I worked with Randy at Adam’s door he taught me how to install residential he was a great outdoorsman and a good guy and he will surely be missed God-bless him and his family from the Grommons Don and Bonnie

  9. Rude was a kind soul…always willing to help out. He would give the shirt off his back, if he thought it would help. We talked (argued..lol) alot over the years. He once told me that I reminded him of his sister; and I said “then, I feel very sorry for her.” LOL He will be missed❤️

  10. Rudy was my best friend from early on in our younger days and we hung out through our school days and basketball games and will miss his big heart RIP my buddy for life

  13. I never met Rudy in person but we shared the great online shows by Dan Bern and Lorenzo Bertocchini. He always greeted me at the shows and shared photos of his great catches. He will be missed in our little community. We all loved Rudy, the sweetest kindest soul 💕

  14. Rudy connected with many of us during the last few years via Facebook live music streams. He was a very warm, outgoing person who will be missed.

  15. Rudy was a very dear sweet man. He would DM me every so often just to see how I was doing. He was a fan of my livestream Flour Hour & thanked me many times for introducing him to some of my musician friends livestreams. Rest Well my dear sweet Tudy Rudy. ❤️🙏🏻
