Paul Edward Blinks

Paul Edward Blinks, of Lisbon, passed away suddenly due to complications of lymphoma, May 24, 2014 at Mercy Medical Center, Cedar Rapids. A gathering to remember Paul will be Tuesday, May 27, 2014 from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Morgan Funeral & Cremation Choices, Mount Vernon. Paul was born March 16, 1953, the son of Maxine Achey Blinks and John T. Blinks. He was a 1972 graduate of Lisbon Community Schools. In 1975 he married Janette Wolrab Blinks. He was involved in farming a good part of his life. Joining with brother Curtis to establish Blinks Bros., an agricultural business. For the past fifteen years he was employed by Jay Proffitt Construction in Solon. Survivors include his wife Janette; daughters: Leah Striegel (Jason) and Emily Hertzke (Adam); granddaughters: Angela, Sara, Mariah and Noel Striegel; and grandson Henry Paul Hertzke; brothers: John Curtis (Laura), Douglas (Chris) and Alberta Brian (Meretta); sister Debra Hoke (Lon); and numerous nieces and nephews. Paul was preceded in death by his Father, John Thomas Blinks. Paul's unique sense of humor will be missed.
