Date line Lisbon Mabel Leona Watson Wright 89 of Lisbon, died Monday April 9, 2012 in Living Center West Nursing Home, Cedar Rapids. Funeral service for Mabel will be 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, April 16, 2012 in Morgan Funeral Choices, Mount Vernon. Mabel's family will greet friends from 9:00 a.m. until service time, Tuesday. Mabel is to be buried in Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery, Cedar Rapids, alongside her husband Ivan. Surviving Mabel are her children Keith (Carolyn) Wright of Connecticut and Gary (Joanne) Wright of Massachusetts, her grandchildren BethAnn Wright and and Meridith (Todd) Tondalo of Connecticut, David Wright and Sara Wright of Massachusetts. She had three great-grandchildren in Connecticut, Cooper, Chase, and Carson Tondalo. Also surviving Mabel are also survived by several nieces and nephews. Preceding Mabel in death were her parents, and six brothers, John, Alfred, Leslie, Mervin, Clare, and her twin Orville. . Mabel was born May 3, 1922 in Marion, the daughter of Frank and Jessie Burkett Watson. She married Ivan Wright in 1940 at Central City. Mabel and Ivan raised their family on farms in Central City and Decorah before Ivan passed away in June of 1963. She spent many years as a caregiver for the elderly before retiring to Myers Meadow in Lisbon where she remained until moving to Living Center West in Cedar Rapids.
