Lewis "Louie" Meyer, 61, of Ft. Pierce, Florida, formerly of Mount Vernon, died Tuesday, September 20, 2005 in his home from a sudden illness. A Celebration of Louie's life with refreshments and music will be 2:00 p.m., Saturday, October 29, at Morgan Tribute Center Mount Vernon Chapel. Help the family celebrate by bringing photos, mementos, or memories. Surviving Louie are his life partner Larry Swanson of Ft. Pierce; a sister Connie and husband Donald Kahl of Cedar Rapids; two nieces: Susy Mart, Allison Svestka; a nephew Jeffrey Franta; and five great nieces and nephews. Preceding Louie in death were his parents. Louie was born June 3, 1944, in Clarence, the youngest child of Richard and Nadine Lillis Meyer. He graduated from Mount Vernon High School. Louie worked at Matula Electric in White City, Florida as office manager at the time of his death. Louie gathered a "Family" from far and wide. He was always doing for others, never expecting anything in return. He lived life to the fullest, and he had a great spirit, caring deeply about others. Music was his passion. He outfitted his PT Cruiser with stereo equipment bringing music to his friends. He became known as "Tunes with Lou." He was looking forward to retirement, and had plans to create "Sutliff South," bring Maidrites to Florida, and launch radio station WENN AM 800. Louie's spirit will remain with us forever. And as Louie would say, "WENN AM 800 will be signing off now." On line condolences: www.morganfuneralchoices.com

I’m so very sorry for your loss. I haven’t seen Louie since High School, but I do remember him well. He was so energenic, so full of life and so happy all the time. His SPIRIT was the best! Again I’m sorry for your loss, but I know he left you with great memories and the happy times you will never forget. Sincerely, Renee Branson Sterenberg Class of 63. MVHS.
I knew Louie in high school and really enjoyed his spirit for our school. I remember him as full of life and always laughing and happy. I’m sure he brought so much joy and happiness to all in his life. One of the most positive people I’ve ever known. I’m very sorry for his loss. An old classmate, MVHS “63” Renee Branson Sterenberg
