  1. Roberta, and family,

Sorry to hear about your loss. It’s hard to find the right words to comfort. I only hope that knowing others care is of some comfort. May bless you all.

    Murph

  2. Although we have never met ,I want say how much I enjoyed playing in the Dixie notes with Larry,as fine a musician as I have had the privilege to know. I played his tuba and he was happy to have it used. I particularly liked his free style. he will be sorely missed. We may leave an empty chair for where he would sit during the Memorial service Ken Kirby,Tuba.

  3. What a great and selfless man. He will be missed by his municipal band family. Our condolences to all the Klima’s, and especially to his son, Kim, another member of our municipal band family.

    Bill Carson

  4. I will never forget the years I played with Larry in the CR municipal band. What an easy-going guy that anyone who talked to him for more than 2 minutes liked. Always offered to help carry heavy percussion equipment, even when I kept reminding him he’s “too old to be doing that stuff.” Always enjoyed a can of his Mountain Dow or Pipsi before gigs. Great man…he will be missed.

  5. Roberta and family – we were so sorry to hear about Larry. Our prayers and thoughts are with you at this difficult time. He was a great guy……………Barb & Ken

  6. I just learned of Larry’s passing. It was an honor to know him and call him friend. It was a privilege and joy playing with him especially the Cedar Rapids Municipal Band. His hard work and dedication to the musical groups he supported was admirable. He will be missed. My deepest sympathies to all the family and fellow friends.
    Sincerely,
    Ted Biderman

  7. We are so sorry to hear the passing of Larry. I really enjoyed working with him at Collins. He was a wonderful friend. Our deepest sympathy to the family.

  8. As my boss for over 15 years, I thought he was one of the easiest persons to work with I have ever met. He was a good friend and I will always remember the enjoyment we had on the “chicken” boats rides on the Cedar River. LeAnn and I wish to express our sympathy to Roberta and the family. Sincerely, Tom Ridgeway

  9. Condolences to the Klima family. Our thoughts and prayers go out to your whole family. Psalms 147:3 says God, “heals the broken hearted, and binds up their wounds.” May God bring you comfort and peace.
