Faye Elizabeth Light Pitlik, 86, of Mount Vernon, died Friday, January 28, 2011 at Mercy Hospital Cedar Rapids. Funeral Mass 10:30 a.m., Monday at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Mount Vernon, by Reverend Rod Allers. Faye's viewing and visitation will be Sunday, from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m., at Morgan Funeral and Cremation Choices, Mount Vernon, where the Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. Faye will be buried in the church cemetery, Lisbon. Faye is survived by three sons: Martin (LuAnn), Rockwall, Texas, and their children Laura Pitlik, and Steve (Kate) both of Dallas, Texas; Roger and his children Andrew, Mount Vernon and Amy Pitlik of Denver, Colorado; and Jeff (Royce) of Anamosa; sisters Helen (Vernon) Burge, Dorothy Dvorak Mullaley both of Mount Vernon, sister-in-law, Martha Light Serbousek, and brother-in-law Francis (Jean) Pitlik. Preceding Faye in death was her husband Joseph "Jack"; parents, Roy Light and Grace Light Morningstar, her brother Ralph Light, a daughter-in-law, Gayla Deskin Pitlik. Faye was born May 21, 1924 in Lisbon and graduated from Lisbon High School. She married Jack Pitlik, April 26, 1944 in St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Lisbon. He died December 30, 2001. Faye and Jack farmed south of Mount Vernon and raised three children. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Mount Vernon. Alzheimer's Association East Central Chapter, 1550 42nd St., Cedar Rapids, Iowa, 52402 will accept donations in Faye's memory.
We are so sorry to hear of Faye’s passing. We have alot of good memories of the times that we spent with your Mom and Dad. We are very sorry that will not be able to attend Her services as we are in Florida. Please accept our condolences.
