We are deeply sorry for your loss ~ Stewart Baxter Funeral & Memorial Services – Cedar Rapids
58 years a good friend. Good-bye D.J. I hope we meet again, friend.
It breaks my heart to have to share a memory of my big brother. I have a lifetime of them. He has looked out for me for as long as I can remember. Most guys probably wouldn’t want their little brother tagging along with them, but not my brother. He took me camping and hunting and fishing from the time he first got his drivers license. His friends were my friends too. We had so many good times and so many parties at his house on 18th Ave, which I still refer to as “Animal House”. Brothers fight, it happens all the time. I can’t ever remember having a single fight with my brother. He was the best man at my first wedding and I was his best man when he married Cindy. He was and always will be the better man as far as I’m concerned. I remember when my brother in law Randy Port passed away over 30 years ago, his brother Gary said at his funeral, “ I didn’t just lose my brother, I lost my best friend”. I know exactly what he meant. RIP big brother. I love you and miss you so much! I have that blessed hope of seeing you again on heavens golden shores. Thank you Lord Jesus Christ for eternal life through faith in your name and thank you Lord for blessing me with the worlds greatest brother. Amen
Dean, This is a beautiful tribute to your brother. May the sun shine upon him eternally. Sincerely, Lori Kennedy Bristow

Grew up with DJ, so many fond memories as kids playing together in the neighborhood. R.I.P. Will see you again my friend.
RIP buddy
Too many good times to remember them all. See you on the other side old friend.
David Jacobson will remain in our hearts forever.
Wishing you peace to bring comfort, courage to face the days ahead and loving memories to forever hold in your hearts.
I knew DJ for over 50 years. One of the finest human beings I have ever met, and I was so fortunate to be able to call him my friend. He loved to laugh and joke around, and was always fun to be around. DJ was honorable and true, and he didn’t have a mean or hatefull bone in his body. He treated everyone honestly and fairly, and I have enormous respect for how he lived his life. The brain disorder that took his life is cold, cruel, and unyielding, and his family has my utmost sympathy and respect for the care and support they provided him as the disorder progressed. So many memories- some of the best times of my life were spent with David. Living with him in the “Animal House” complete with pool table, fooseball table, and keg refridgerator was so much fun. There was always something happening and never a dull moment. David enjoyed many of the same things I did, and we spent a lot of time hunting, fishing, going to concerts, camping, road trips, and just hanging out. I will cherish the memories of those good times forever. RIP DJ, I will miss you forever.
What a nice story of your friendship with DJ you shared.
RIP David. Thanks for the memories.
We were very sorry to hear of Dave’s passing. Our prayers are with you all for strength and peace during this difficult time. Rod Martens Fellow Evergreen Machinist
