Kathrene Mary Dix, 72, of Mount Vernon, Iowa, passed away on Tuesday, September 29, 2026. Visitation 4:00-7:00 p.m., Sunday, October 4, 2026, with a rosary recited at 3:30 p.m., Saint John the Baptist Catholic Church, Mount Vernon. Funeral Mass: 10:30 a.m., Monday, October 5, 2026, Saint John the Baptist Catholic Church, Mount Vernon. Burial: Saints Peter & Paul Cemetery, Solon, Iowa. Stewart Baxter Funeral & Memorial Services, Mount Vernon, is assisting the family with arrangements.
Kathy was born on February 8, 1954, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the daughter of Raphael and Elizabeth (Becker) Pisarik. She was united in marriage to Minor Dix on January 4, 1975, at Saints Peter & Paul Catholic Church, Solon.
Kathy was devoted to caring for her family. She loved playing games and spending time with her family and grandchildren. Kathy served many roles at Saint John’s. She enjoyed gardening and was a member of the Twin City garden club.
Kathy is survived by her husband, Minor Dix; children, Alison (Melissa) Dix, Justin (Cara) Dix, and Kasey Dix; grandchildren, Libby, Andrew, Audrey, Mack, Will, Gabby, and Dylan; siblings, Francis (Teri) Pisarik, Terese Pisarik, Larry (Kathy) Pisarik, John (Jane) Pisarik, Ron (Nancy) Pisarik, Mark (Luann) Pisarik, Steve (Susan) Pisarik, and Mary (Ron) Holubar; sisters-in-law, LeAnn Pisarik and Joyce Pisarik; and many nieces and nephews.
Kathy was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Dennis Pisarik and Patrick Pisarik.
