Deanne LeVan

Deanne LeVan, 88, of Marion, long-time resident of Mount Vernon, passed away Tuesday, September 22, 2026, at the Oldorf Hospice House, Hiawatha, Iowa. Visitation will be held from 10:00-11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 2, 2026, at Stewart Baxter Funeral & Memorial Services, Mount Vernon. Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m., followed by a graveside committal at Lisbon Cemetery, Lisbon, Iowa. A luncheon will follow at the funeral home.
Deanne was born in Iowa Falls, Iowa, to Charles and Helen (Haak) Dean. She graduated from Mount Vernon High School in 1956 and was united in marriage to David LeVan on December 17, 1960, in Mount Vernon. Deanne was proud to be a military wife and supported David throughout his service.
She was a member of First Baptist Church in Marion, Iowa, as well as P.E.O. for 60 plus years. Deanne enjoyed gardening, knitting, quilting, and raising monarch butterflies.
Deanne is survived by two daughters, Andrea (Mark) Wagner of Robins, Catherine (Dan) Boggs of Lisbon; six grandchildren, Tony (Laura Schmidt) Wagner, Brian (Hannah Mallow) Wagner, Danielle (Cody) Kellogg, Natalie (Andy) Stephens, Stephanie Boggs, and Chace (Cejae) Boggs; four great-grandchildren, Avaline Kellogg, Hudson Kellogg, Jack Henry Stephens, and Wyatt Boggs; and sister, Marilyn Schnittjer.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and husband, David LeVan.
