Vicki Vanter

Vicki Vanter, 75, of Springville, Iowa, passed away at her home from complications of breast cancer on August 13, 2026. A Wake will be held from 4-7:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 22, 2026, at the Springville Methodist Church, Springville. The family is being cared for by Stewart Baxter Funeral & Memorial Services, Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

Vicki was born in Oelwein, Iowa, daughter to Donald and Ruth (Moine) Burrack. She graduated from Starmont High School and was united in marriage to Gordon Vanter in Arlington, Iowa, on September 13, 1970. Vicki worked as a business manager for Starmont Schools for 27 years.

Vicki was a strong woman who loved and cared deeply for her family. She loved playing cards and had a laugh that was contagious. She enjoyed watching Survivor and reading. Vicki also loved spending time outdoors; mowing the lawn, planting flowers, and any yard work she could. She loved sports, whether she was cheering on her grandchildren or the Iowa Hawkeyes. Most of all, she cherished the time she spent with her family.

Vicki is survived by her children, Kristi (Matt) March and Wendi (Russ Rauscher) Vanter; grandchildren, Zachariah March, Lily Schaum, Hannah March, and Jace March; and siblings, Robert Burrack and Sher Burrack.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Gordon Vanter; brother, Randall Burrack; and mother-in-law, Lillian Vanter.
