Glen Unkrich Jr.

Glen Wesley Unkrich Jr., 90 of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, passed away peacefully on June 7, 2026, with family by his side. He has reunited with his wife, JoAnn in heaven. A memorial service will be held Thursday, June 18, 2026, at noon with visitation one hour prior to service at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 2900 42nd St NE in Cedar Rapids.

Glen was born on September 30,1935 in Glasgow, Montana, to Glen W. Unkrich Sr. and Ethel (Colton) Unkrich. He graduated from Fairfleld High School, where he played basketball, football and ran track. After high school he spent four years in the Navy.

Glen married JoAnn Tollefsrud on September 5,1970 and spent 52 years together before she passed away in January 2023.

Glen had various jobs during his life including Hometown Dairy, FMC Linkbelt, and finally Penford, from which he retired. After retirement Glen and JoAnn spent many years in Mesa, Arizona, where they enjoyed all the activities their retirement community offered.

Glen was always active in his church, regularly serving as a greeter and usher. Glen bowled on leagues and enthusiastically cheered on the Hawkeyes. But his passion was golf. His accomplishments included nine hole-in-ones at courses in Iowa and Arizona. He was also a starter at Ellis Golf Course in retirement.

Glen is survived by his son, David (Nicole) Unkrich; daughters, Luann Richmond, Jody (Stu) Hohm, and Kim Unkrich; grandchildren, Sarah Molitor, Ian Richmond, Skyler Shepard, Meritt (Amy) Stastny, Aly (Nick) Webb, Stuart Hohm, Spencer Hohm, Bryson Unkrich, Kellen Unkrich, and Natalie Unkrich; great-grandchildren, Zane, Amelia, Ender, Solus, Quinn, Vivian, Maren and Barrett.

Glen was proceeded in death by his parents; wife, JoAnn; children, Scott Unkrich and Dan Molitor; and siblings, Madelene Schertz, Donnie Unkrich and Mike Unkrich.

He will be dearly missed by family and friends.
