Edward Henchey

Edward “Fuzzy” Henchey, 90, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, passed away on May 6, 2026, at Belle Plaine Specialty Care, Belle Plaine, Iowa. No services are planned. The family is being cared for by Stewart Baxter Funeral & Memorial Services, Cedar Rapids.

Ed was born on May 18, 1935, in Boston, Massachusetts, son to Samuel and Margaret (Maguire) Henchey. Ed proudly served in the United States Air Force from August of 1952 to June of 1956 until his honorable discharge. Ed was a very proud veteran and would often tell many tales of his service in the Air Force. Ed moved to Iowa from Massachusetts in the early 1980’s and continued to make Cedar Rapids his home after retirement and until his passing.

Ed is survived by his nephew, Scott Gruver; niece, Mary Ann Smith; and many other nieces and nephews in New England.

Ed was preceded in death by his parents, Samuel and Margaret Henchey; and siblings, Beatrice Henchey, Veronica Leard, Teresa Henchey, Alice Thomas, Mary Gruver, James Henchey, Frank “Francis” Henchey, John Henchey, William Henchey, and Robert Henchey.
