Lucille Aupperle

Lucille Aupperle, 103, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, passed away on Thursday, March 26, 2026, at Northbrook Care Center, Cedar Rapids. Funeral Service will be at 11:00 a.m. on April 4, 2026, at Stewart Baxter Funeral & Memorial Services, Cedar Rapids, 1844 1^st Avenue NE Cedar Rapids, Iowa 52402. Burial will follow at Shiloh Cemetery and a luncheon will be held after the burial at the funeral home.

Lucille was born July 28, 1922, in Iowa City, Iowa, daughter to Phillip and Pearl (Boarts) Rogers. She was united in marriage to Howard Aupperle on December 18, 1971, at Trinity Lutheran Church.

Lucille loved to dance—especially at the Senior Citizens Center in Hiawatha—where she also enjoyed watching the gentlemen. She never drove, instead relying on family and friends to take her to dances and wherever else she needed to go. Dancing and lollipops were part of the secret to her 103 beautiful years.

She also had a love for birds, especially canaries and parakeets. While living with her daughter, she enjoyed the companionship of various cats. Lucille loved dining out, taking long trips south with Howard, and she truly loved everyone she met.

Lucille is survived by her children, Pam (Dave) Evens and Dale (Monica) Frank; grandchildren, Matthew (Tracy) Ingalls, Mark Ingalls, Kimberly Reyhons, Eric Ingalls, Nicole Ingalls (Kenya), and Dylan Gremm; eleven great grandchildren; four great great grandchildren; special niece, Jan (Jeff) Smith; and daughter-in-law, Cynda Ingalls.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Phillip (Pearl) Rogers; husbands, Arthur Ingalls, Ernest Frank, and Howard Aupperle; sons, Wayne Ingalls and Michael Ingalls; brother, Don Rogers, and nephew, Greg Rogers.

Memorials may be made to Northbrook Manor Care Center or Suncrest Hospice. Those who are unable to attend services can mail cards to 1844 1^st Avenue NE Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
