Paul Krob

March 9, 1943 ~ July 13, 2025

Paul Eugene Krob, 82, of Marion, Iowa passed away peacefully at the MeadowView Memory Care Center on July 13, 2025.

Paul was born on March 9, 1943, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, to Frank and Marguerite Krob. He grew up in Cedar County. He graduated from Lisbon High School in 1960. After high school he worked on the farm with his father, Frank. He also owned Best Oil Company in Lisbon. He later started his own business, Paul’s Auto Sales. He loved restoring and repairing vehicles, especially old 55 and 57 Chevys. He especially enjoyed the time he spent working alongside his son Eric on their projects. He eventually went on to work for Quaker Oats until his retirement.

Paul loved the Lord and was a faithful member of Community Bible Church in Mount Vernon for many years. He enjoyed his growth groups and always volunteered to help with any project or activity that he could. He was known for his big caring heart and smile. He loved to drive his tractor for hayrack rides for church festivities, as well as any chance he had to be in a local parade. He would love to spend free time at car shows and always loved the chance to talk about cars. Another love he had was going on annual fishing trips with his family and friends. He was very patient and enjoyed the time on the water.

Paul married Sally Teague on October 21, 1966, and they had three children, Eric, Amy and Brenda. He enjoyed his family time, and his body shop allowed him to always be around for that. They later divorced and Paul then married Carol Smith.

Paul was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Marguerite Krob; sister, Elaine (Bob) Henik; and sister-in-law, Virginia Krob.

He is survived by his brothers, Richard Krob and John Krob; son, Eric (Stacy) Krob; daughters, Amy (Jim) Tindal and Brenda (Jeremy) Krob; and twelve grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 10 – 12:00 p.m. on Monday, July 21, 2025, at Stewart Baxter Funeral & Memorial Services, Mount Vernon. A private family burial will immediately follow.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Jessica & Friends Community in honor of his niece, Jessica.

The family would like to thank all of the wonderful staff at MeadowView Memory Center for loving and caring for Paul the past 3.5 years.

  1. Here dad was trying to help us find the mouse in the wall! He was always such a great helper and one call away when we needed it!

  2. Paul was a brother and uncle to us. He was always there with a helping hand and a big hug. We will miss him! Love always, The Reinken family

  3. To the loved ones of Paul: He is Home with his Father that kept His promise that He come back for him! Thank you Jesus Paul met my husband Al Dickerson through Eric, and I knew Sally. Paul made Al feel very comfortable, as their first conversation would be about Jesus! I then met Paul after Al & I had a accident, and Paul got us back on the road again. I know Paul will be missed, but after 3.5 yrs, in memory care, God kept His promise and took Paul home. Although we may miss him, today is his first day of Eternal Life…Our God is a Awesome God, Thank you Jesus Kathy Dickerson

  4. We shared many thoughts and prayers together in his shop. Of all the possessions he had in his life, his personal relationship with Jesus is his most precious. Allen Dickerson.

  5. Paul was a good man, and talented too. I admired his considerable skills and enjoyed his personality. Sympathy to his family. Wishing you peace.

  6. Deepest sympathy to all the family of Paul Krob and friends

Memories of Uncle Paul are many, but for Eric, Brian and Todd Lehr are the many times Paul had the three guys in the cab of the tractor

Spending time in Uncle Paula’s shed and I could list many more good times and wonderful memories for those three guys

He was a wonderful man and loved by all

  7. What a blessing and comfort to know Paul is finally free from the confusion and pain of dementia. Mind is restored, spirit is free. The even bigger blessing, he is reunited with his wife of THIRTY years, Carolyn Krob! God is good! Thankful my family and I were along for his last 3 fishing trips to Cass Lake, Minnesota! He had such a great time with the grandkids helping them and showing them the ropes of fishing; or what he was still able to do of it!

  8. When Lee and I were in Lisbon yesterday and drove by Paul’s old shop we remarked about how many times we would stop to visit with him and see all his cars. His eyes would light up discussing 56-57 Chevy’s. Going to be missed as he always had a smile and hug for us. Lee & Elaine Neymeyer
