Dorothy was born on February 23, 1930, in Eagle Grove, Iowa, the daughter of Albert and Marion (Trask) Moellering. She graduated from Iowa State University. On July 5, 1952, she was united in marriage to H. Everett Russell. They farmed outside of Morley, Iowa. Dorothy was filled with positive energy and joy. She was never content just belonging to an organization, but served on boards, committees, and as an officer for so many. Dorothy Russell worked tirelessly to make her community, country, and the world a better place. Family was very important to her, and not just immediate family. She cared about every niece, nephew, cousin, in-law, and all the friends who became family. Birthdays and anniversaries were never missed. 3. I will forever miss a birthday and Christmas email from Aunt Dorothy! She always made you feel like the most special person that day. With deepest sympathy, Emily Kohl

  4. I met Dorothy and Everett many years ago and then renewed acquaintance thru our One More Chapter book club. She had a great memory and recall of her travels and family. A delight to talk about her travels and exciting books we shared.

  5. Thinking of your family in this transition without Dorothy. So hard when you’ve had them a long time. Remember Dorothy from growing up with her children in rural Morley. Blessing to all.

  6. I knew Dorothy for many years when the family lived near Morley. We both belonged to the U-goa I-goa club, and I think I still have a Christmas ornament she gave me in a gift exchange. I always enjoyed her sense of humor and her energy. You have my sympathy. Florence Duncan

  7. Deeply sorry for your loss, thinking of your family at this time.

Designer’s Choice Bouquet was purchased for the family of Dorothy Russell by Jim Williams.

  8. May her spirit be remembered through the trees.

3 trees were planted in memory of Dorothy Russell

  9. We’ve dedicated 3 trees in memory of an amazing woman. We met her just once at Megan and Deko’s wedding and listened to her words of wisdom that she was imparting to the newly weds. What a sad time it must be for the family with the loss of such a beautiful, loving, energetic and giving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. What a legacy she’s left with living life to the fullest which will touch many lives. She will be sorrowly missed by all. Eugene and Mary Telka,
