Gary LeRoy McMullen, age 68, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, peacefully entered his eternal resting place surrounded by loved ones on April 17th, 2024. Stewart Baxter Funeral & Memorial Services is caring for the family. He was a man of many passions, but none greater than his love for his beloved 1931 Chevy sedan and anything related to hot rods. He found joy in woodworking and spending countless hours tinkering in his garage. For over 30 years, Gary dedicated himself to the Highway Equipment company before venturing into managing a mobile home park in Florida. Eventually, he returned to Iowa to retire and indulge in his passion for traveling to different car shows and car cruises. Gary is survived by his children, Danielle (David) McMickle of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Nathaniel (Sarah) Underwood of Springville, Iowa, and Corey Underwood of Des Moines, Iowa; and brother, Jeff McMullen of Roanoke, Virginia. He leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories for his grandchildren Noah, Aidyn, Brayden, Eli, Ryley, Addisyn, Carsyn, Damyn, and Alaryc. Gary also leaves behind his beloved dog, Sophie. He is also survived by his former wife, Wendy; brother-in-law, Randy; and sister-in-law, Maria. He is preceded in death by his parents, Arley and Jean McMullen; brother, Steve (Mac) McMullen; and sister Donna Morrison.
