Never to late to share a momory or two is it. I was a classmate of Dick’s at Columbus High School and a member of the 1971 State Qualifying Basketball Team “Hanny” was a part of. After finally locating “Hanny” after 45 years in 2022, we had a rather enthusiastic conversation about the five other senior players, the “games”, the unbelievable games beating eight top ten teams in the last six weeks of our senior year and all those packed game day gymnasiums. That day two years ago will be etched in my mind forever and the knowledge that I was able to share phone numbers with the other players and our coach, knowing after that, that Hanny contacted each of them and talked for hours with them, makes me feel God has his hand in helping to make Hanny’s last few months (unannounced to me) a joy that he would only know. He is now enjoying company with another former classmate and BB player who passed away before Hanny, discussing all the games and fun times we all had together. RIP my dear friend and I will see you again.
