David Burke, 73, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 4, 2024, at the Harmony House, Cedar Rapids. There will be a private family burial at a later date. The family is being cared for by Stewart Baxter Funeral & Memorial Services, Cedar Rapids. Dave was born September 25, 1950, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, son to John and Viola (Wieser) Burke. He graduated from Washington High School in 1969. Throughout Dave's life he worked for various companies driving semi-truck. Dave was an avid hunter, enjoyed fishing, watching westerns, collected knives and old Indian artifacts, and enjoyed playing the Powerball. He was also a former member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. He is survived by two nieces, Tiffany and Veronica Burke; several cousins, and many loving family members. He is preceded in death by his parents, brother, Steven Burke; and nephew, Bryan Burke. David's family would like to thank the staff at Harmony and St. Croix Hospice for the loving and compassionate care that he received during his stay.
