Ricky Batcheller, 65, passed away on Friday, October 13, 2023, at home in Mechanicsville, Iowa. Celebration of Life will be at a later date.
Rick is survived by his sister, Sharon (Mervin) Hudson of Iowa; Jeff (Stacey) Heath of Indiana; and cousins, Danny Vargason, Richard Batcheller, and Steve Batcheller.
Rick was born December 15, 1957, to Ray and Birdie (Vargason) Batcheller in Maquoketa, Iowa. He enjoyed traveling all over the United States with his dog, Bobalou, watching sports, listening to music, playing the guitar, and was a civil war enthusiast.
He is preceded in death by his parents, brother, Steve (Tracy) Batcheller; and his beloved dog, Bobalou.

I always called Ricky my cousin, even though we weren’t related by blood. My best memory was when Birdie would drop him off at my house before school so I could make sure he would go to his class and stay there! We must have been in 1st or 2nd grade. We would walk in the front door of Lisbon elementary and I’d go to class and Ricky would walk right out the back door! He was a pretty good guy! Rest in peace, “cousin “!
