She was raised on the coast of Maine in Winter Harbor. She was united in marriage on June 9, 1956, to John Dillingham Kuntz, who had been stationed nearby in the U.S. Navy. Anne graduated with a degree in home economics on the following day from the University of Maine at Orono. They returned to Iowa, where John completed his degree at Iowa State University while Anne worked in the soil lab. Her lifelong love of college basketball may have begun when she got to witness ISU beat #1 Kansas. It was Wilt Chamberlain's first loss in college basketball.
In 1957, they moved to rural Lisbon and settled on the farm. Anne worked for the ISU extension service prior to having children. She was an active volunteer serving in multiple roles at Linn Grove Presbyterian Church, with Jones County 4-H, Martelle Century Club, G.I.C., and worked at the polls on Election Days. Professionally, Anne judged 4-H and Open Show exhibits in county fairs across eastern Iowa for many years. She also substitute taught in several local school districts. Often, you could find her out in the garden or baking in her kitchen. Anne and John enjoyed annual travel back to Maine, touring around the US, and attending local events like the community band concerts. Anne and John lived a life of faith, family, and friends. Anne fully embraced the roles of wife, mother, and nurturing grandmother. Her sense of humor and candor entertained many.
Toward the end of her life, Anne moved into Hallmark Care Center as Lewy Body Dementia progressed. At first, she missed the farm, but she very quickly adapted to the college dorm-like atmosphere of roommates and activities and considered Hallmark home for nearly five years. She was loved by a very caring and skilled staff and our family is forever grateful.
Those carrying on her legacy are her children, Carol (Dave) Larson of Spirit Lake, Iowa, Alan (Cindy) Kuntz of Lisbon, Linda (Fred) Luckritz of Richland, Missouri, Sharon (Tim) Glenn of Johnston, Iowa; six grandchildren, Krista (Trevor) Smith, Andrew Larson, Tim Luckritz, Laurie Luckritz, Katie (Hunter) Daniel, Sean (Kate) Glenn; three great-grandsons, Erik Luckritz, Marcus Luckritz, and William Glenn; additional family members, Megan (Kyle) Hach, Carter, Easton, and Kelsey of Martelle, Jake (Christina) Hennager, Nora, and Cameron of Mount Vernon; brother, Bruce Clark of Ellsworth, Maine; and sister-in-law, Alice Johnson of Tucson, Arizona.
Anne was preceded in death by her parents, and husband of sixty years.

These four dear people had many adventures together and were lifelong friends. What a blessing to know that never ends, they are simply gathering one by one on the other side.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time.
So sorry for your loss. Quite a lady. True Cyclone fan!
Our sincere condolences to Anne’s family. Anne touched many lives and will be thought of often and never forgotten. May all your wonderful memories outweigh your sadness. This Bible verse recorded in John 5:28 has been of comfort to our family when experiencing a loss. It reads “all those in the memorial tombs will hear his (Jesus Christ) voice and come out “. May God Jehovah give strength and his love to each of you always.
Anne was such a good friend and comfort for our Mother, Helen, when they were both at Hallmark. You are in our prayers. Scott & Greg Smith
