Wayne Burns

Wayne Burns, 52, passed away on Friday, May 12, 2023 at home. He fought a tough battle with esophageal cancer. No services are planned. Survivors include his wife; Deja Burns, mother; Marie Burns, children; Tiffany Schuerman, Brianna Burns, Rachel Burns, and Peyton Burns, step-children; Lorencio Alcaraz, Jade Alcaraz, Antonio Hutchens, and Drake Hutches, grandchildren; Teegan Schuerman, Enzo Alcaraz, and Roman Hutchens, brothers; Richard Burns, David Burns, and Brad Burns, dogs; Kya, Snoopy, and Max, and many loving family members. Wayne was born March 8, 1971, son of Richard and Marie (Strait) Burns in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Wayne worked as a machinist at Rockwell Collins. He loved working on RC cars, fishing, the show Survivor, his dogs, and most importantly spending time with his family. He was preceded in death by his father; and grandparents; Claire (Lucille) Strait. Memorials may be made to the family.

  4. I had no idea until moments ago that Wayne had passed on. I’ve been away for awhile, but Rabbit was a true brother during the time I knew him. My condolences. Watching college basketball will hold a different sting. Love ya bro
