Daniel Beyer, 72, of Cedar Rapids, passed away Tuesday, January 10, 2023, at home. Private family services will take place at a later date. Dan will be heading back to Pismo Beach, California.
Daniel Christopher was born to Dale and Gwendolyn (Johnson) Beyer on December 3, 1950 in Illinois. He served in the Army Air Force, Navy, and Air Force before his retirement.
He was a giver. Dan's love of music of all genres, especially alternate music, made him happy. Dan was a regular reader of the Bible and wore his Rosary, praying for everyone he met. He was passionate about recycling, especially old books and would give the shirt off his back to anyone who needed it. Basically, he was pretty cool.
Survivors include his daughters, Amanda Beyer of Cedar Rapids, and Ellen Beyer of Westminster, Colorado; granddaughter, Miah Kroll; and siblings, Cathy, Connie, Karen, Bobby, and Lori. He was preceded in death by his parents; and four siblings.

Q: What was one of your favorite qualities of Daniel?
A: I delivered Meals On Wheels to Daniel and I was impressed to see his cheerful attitude when I arrived. He always thanked me and let me know know how much he appreciated all I did for him. We talked about his faith and I know he is in a better place now.

Laughter is the shortest distance between two people ~ We will always remember you laughter and your smile Uncle Danny
Danny always thought he was so funny because we were so close in age and in the same grade so he told everyone we were twins and no one ever questioned it! I miss you big brother. Rest peacefully with Jesus. Always in my heart. Love your twin sister Cathy.
To my grandparent’s firstborn son. You were a kind man with a beautiful smile that everyone loved. Uncle Dan, you will be missed but never forgotten.
Uncle Danny I wish you could have met my children and we could have spent some time together. You had a great taste in music and I loved every time you shared a Lana Del Rey or Sia song with me. Rest in Peace Love Jess
Uncle Danny I remember you so easy to be with, kind, and curious and truly interested. And of course that Beyer smile.
Forever in our hearts. I miss you dad 💔❤️
