Julie Wlach

Julie Irene Wlach was born in Cedar Rapids, Iowa on April 19, 1949, to Leonard and Marjorie (Rennekamp) Wlach. She was the adored wife of the late Karl Jarlebrink; beloved sister of Ellen; and aunt of Jennifer and Matthew (Jeannette), and dear friend of many. She loved this country so much that she majored in it' graduating with a bachelor's degree in American Civilization and a minor in Psychology from the University of Iowa. She went on to earn a master's degree in management with concentrations in finance and marketing from Northwestern University, where she graduated top in her class. Work, whether through employment or volunteering, was central to Julie's life. That work included teenage days of playing the piano for services and plays, summers as a postal carrier, frequent babysitter for the children of the president of the University of Iowa, years of Federal public service with the EPA and Department of Labor, being a Securities Analyst, and establishing her own communications entity and a gardening business with Karl. Julie was also a leader, an activist, and an advocate for many causes, especially in her local community of Andersonville, Chicago. She was bright, articulate, committed, passionate, and always fierce. Throughout Julie's life, she supported many non-profits. If you had a friend in Julie, she was your most loyal of supporters.
