Mary Faches, 87, formerly of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, died on September 9, 2022. Funeral Service: 11 a.m. on Saturday, September 17, 2022, at St. John the Baptist Greek Orthodox Church, Cedar Rapids. Visitation: 5-7 p.m. on Friday, September 16, 2022, at Stewart Baxter Funeral & Memorial Services, Cedar Rapids., with a Trisagion Service at 7 pm. Arrangements are with Stewart Baxter Funeral & Memorial Service, Cedar Rapids.Mary is survived by her daughters, Andrea Faches (Eric Chadwick) and Allison Faches (Brian Hawes); nine adoring grandchildren: granddaughters, Katharine, Tess and Melina Chadwick, and Ashlynn and Teagan Hawes and grandsons, Bill and Alex Chadwick, and Carrick and Lorcan Hawes.Mary served the Cedar Rapids Public Schools as a teacher for many years. She loved her family dearly. Mary enjoyed cooking and playing cards.
