Linda Haislip Ross, 74, passed away April 21, 2022. Linda was born on April 22, 1947 in Sedalia, Missouri, the daughter of Virginia and Eugene Haislip. Memorial Services will be held at a different date in Missouri . Arrangements are with Stewart Baxter Funeral & Memorial Services, Cedar Rapids. Much of her early life was spent in Sedalia with her beloved grandparents. Linda attended Smith Cotton High school, but graduated from Plattsburg High school in Plattsburg, Missouri. After graduation she attended Missouri Western College and Kansas City Art Institute, while working at Fletcher and Associates. After school she moved to Norway, Iowa and took a job as a graphic artist for Stamats Publishing Company in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, where she worked for 17 years. In 1976 Linda married Frank Ross and they had two daughters, Samantha and Stacie. The marriage ended in 1986. She is survived by her daughters, Samantha (Justin) Gharib and Stacie (James McCormick IV) Ross; grandsons, Ross Vander Peut of Arlington Vermont, Aiden, and Gavin Gharib of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; granddaughters, Annie Greer of Middlesboro, Kentucky and Cara Ross of Fort Dodge, Iowa; beloved cousins, Cathy (Jim) Bufford, Diane Spirk and friend Jimmy, Robert (Diana) Herrick, Steve Stamy, Scott (Terri) Stamy, David (June) Stamy, and Lisa (Dr. Gordon) Petersen; and many other beloved family members. She is preceded in death by her grandparents, Fred (Etta) Milburn; mother, Virginia Cunningham; aunts and uncles, Polly (Dr. Richard) Stamy, and Norma (Joseph) Herrick; and beloved mother-in-law Pauline Ross. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the family, c/o Stewart Baxter.

  2. Linda and I have know each other before you were born, Stacie. We had a small business called the wooden needle. Linda was a very talented woman. Sorry for your loss, she will be missed. 🙏

  3. I met Linda in college at Missouri Western (Junior College. So much fun, the best personality. We would get together and play adds on Friday nights. Such a wonderful person.   4. Linda was my roommate in college and when we were working after college. She was so smart and creative and so much fun to hang out with. She was also in my wedding. We lost touch until recent years, thanks to Facebook. I’m sick we never got together even though we talked about it many times. Rest In Peace, Linda. You were one of a kind.
