Theodore John Fangman, 79, of Walker, Iowa, passed away on Thursday, April 14, 2022, at his home. The family will have a private celebration for Ted. Arrangements are with Stewart Baxter Funeral & Memorial Services, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Martie; children, Suzette (Rich) Schmelzer of Elkader, Victoria (Scott) Syverson of Walker, Jo Renee (Jim) Paul of Center Point, Wade Fangman of Corpus Christi, Texas, and Greg (Linda) Fangman of Waterloo; thirteen grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; and siblings, Vernice Knudsen and Jerry Fangman.
Ted was born on March 31, 1943, in Delaware County, Iowa, the son of Frank and Hilda (Bockenstedt) Fangman. He was raised on a farm and the farm life never left his heart. Ted loved all things dirt ' gardening, flowers, plants, and trees. This passion led him to work at Ridgehaven Cono School for many years. Ted cared for the land and fixed everything that needed to be fixed. This also gave him the ability to minister to many kids through his quiet loving presence.
Ted was a member of Spirit of Life Church in Quasqueton. He was a sinner that was saved through the love, death, and resurrection of Christ Jesus.
He was preceded in death by his parents and eight siblings.
Ted's family extends a very special thank you to Hospice of Mercy for their care and compassion.
