Levi Ray Salzbrenner, 83, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, died on Monday, July 19, 2021, at Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy, Hiawatha. Funeral Services: 11 a.m. on Friday, July 23, 2021, at Stewart Baxter Funeral & Memorial Services, Cedar Rapids, with visitation beginning at 10 a.m. Burial with military honors will follow at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery, Cedar Rapids. Friends and extended family are invited to watch the service via webcast. Survivors include his friend, Tina Southard; step-sons, Aaron Southard (Kim), and Joel (Sarah) Wight; grandchildren, Stacia, Tierra, Trenton, Chevi, and Jayla; great-granddaughter, Ava; sister, Arlene Day, brother, Robert (Delores) Salzbrenner, Jr; sisters-in-law, Pat Salzbrenner and Anne Salzbrenner; and many loving nieces and nephews. Levi was born August 8, 1937, in Fairfax, Iowa, the son of Robert and Valeria (Ward) Salzbrenner, Sr. He graduated from McKinley High School and attended the University of New Mexico. Levi served honorably in the Unites States Army from 1959-62. He retired from Collins Aerospace after many years. Levi enjoyed playing cards, gardening, fishing, and especially loved playing the slot machines at the casino. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Glen and Wilbur; and brother-in-law, Ralph Day.
