Edward 'Marleyy' Collins

January 31, 1992 ~ May 7, 2021

Edward Kilroy Collins was born on January 31, 1992, in Chicago, Illinois, to LaSherryl Watkins. Edward, known as Marleyy, attended Enrico Fermi Elementary School in Chicago and Metro High School in Cedar Rapids. Marleyy was known to many and stood out for his smile, generosity, but most importantly for loving his family and children. When he left Chicago in 2006, he stayed in touch with his many friends, constantly going back to visit, play basketball, show his love, and never forget where he came from. Marleyy cherished each moment and day he lived. He was a devoted son to his mother, LaSherryl; brother to his oldest sister, Jackee and brother to Saudia (his ace coon boon). He was also brother to Malik. There wasn't anything he wouldn't do for his family. For that is who he was, a young man with a heart of gold who was living life to the fullest. Came and gone too soon, but leaving a mark in history forever. Marleyy was called to be with his Heavenly Father on Friday, May 7, 2021. He has joined in paradise with his grandfather, Willie (Bill) Henry; grandmother, Fannie Galloway, and close friends, Kenway and Snugg. He leaves behind those to cherish fond memories, his mother, LaSherryl Watkins of Cedar Rapids; sisters, Jackee Watkins of Chicago and Saudia Watkins of Cedar Rapids, brother, Malik Watkins of Cedar Rapids; grandfather, Charles McMiller of Chicago; grandmothers, Maryann Collins and Mildred Henry, both of Chicago; ten children, Tristian, Sebastian, Princeton, Remington, Luxington, Kyng, Saynt, Cavonni, Iyana, and Da'Monte; uncles, Henry Watkins, Billy Watkins, and David Henry; aunties, Michelle Melton and Gloria Watkins, niece, Janiya Thurman; a host of cousins, family and friends; and his lifetime partners, Victoria and MaRaya. Family and friends will gather to remember Marleyy from 3-4 p.m. on Wednesday, May 19, 2021, with a funeral service to begin at 4 p.m., all held at Stewart Baxter Funeral & Memorial Services, 1844 1st Avenue NE, Cedar Rapids.
