Twila P. Filling, 84, of Cedar Rapids, died on Saturday, October 3, 2020, in the Hospice Unit at UnityPoint St. Luke's Hospital following a stroke. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m., on Tuesday, October 6, 2020, at Stewart Baxter Funeral & Memorial Services, Cedar Rapids. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. to service time. Private burial will take place at Oak Hill Cemetery, Central City.

Twila was devoted to her family. She leaves behind three sons, Martin (Jody) Jossie, Rusty Bosworth, and David Filling; granddaughter, Emmorie Jossie; sister, Ann Filling; sister-in-law, Vicki Filling; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Pearl (Bider) Filling; infant daughter, Jenny; siblings, Evelyn 'Jean' Luedeman, Florence 'Florie' Ritchie, William 'Bill' Filling, George Filling, Robert 'Bob' Filling, and Fred 'Ted' Filling.
Twila was born June 10, 1936, and grew up in Covington and Palo. As an adult, she raised her family in Coggon, Central City, and Monticello. In 1989, she moved to Cedar Rapids and enjoyed life in the city. In 2017, she moved to Living Center West following a fall. A fiercely independent woman, she was proud to be able to walk and take care of herself until her death.
She was a hard worker and held a variety of jobs outside the home including factory worker, waitress, cleaner, cook. Twila also volunteered for several years at different charities. She especially enjoyed her time volunteering at Olivet Neighborhood Mission. She liked to collect things, especially dolls. She was very social up until her death.
The family thanks the staff at Living Center West and UnityPoint St. Luke's Hospital for their compassionate care of Twila.
