  1. Thank you, President Bush for your love of America, your love for its people, and your unswerving devotion and sacrifice. You left a legacy that we would be wise to emulate.

  2. President Bush coming to Seymour Johnson AFB, right after Dessert Storm. It was so great to have him at the base, and just listen to him speak.

  3. President Bush was a very humble, honorable man. He served his country with dignity and pride. We miss his leadership and character in both his personal life and public service. The truly great man for all times. Jim and Junelle Benter

  4. He was a wonderful President and a lovely, gracious man. The country needs more leaders like him.
    Barbara Ultis

  5. My deepest condolences to the family of President George H.W. Bush. He exemplified service to the nation from WWII through his tenure as president. I met and spoke with him for about 3 minutes once when he came to campaign in Iowa and could sense his empathy for others immediately but noted his sense of humor when answering whatever question I had asked. Again, my condolences and sympathy go out to all members of the Bush family.

  6. On behalf of my fiance and I. We give our most deepest sympathies to the entire Bush Family. He was a true president.

  7. Our memories of President Bush go back to the election of 1980, where as young medical residents we went to our first ever Iowa caucus and supported him over eventual nominee Ronald Reagan. We were so pleased when he finally won election. In the months leading up to that win, he was campaigning in Iowa when my husband approached him on the street in downtown Cedar Rapids and shook his hand. President Bush was warm and gracious, despite the secret service men with him seeming rather annoyed at this close encounter. A true gentleman and a wonderful example of what the President of the United States should be.
    Al Robb and Wendy Buresh

  8. I never got the chance to meet President George H W Busch but he was a great man and one of the best Presidents. We need more presidents like him and his son. I would like to send my condolences to the Busch family. I know what it is like to lose both your patents. And my father was a great man just like your Dad. You and your family are in my prayers. Tami Bray

  9. My deepest condolences go out to the entire Bush family & all of their friends who were so close to Mr. President George Herbert Walker Bush. Mr. Bush was 1 of the best Presidents of the United States, in addition to an amazing patriot who loved his country. He was a wonderful man who had the best morals through life, & always had time to shake a strangers hand, or sign autographs. He was an amazing Husband, Father, Grandfather, & Friend to all that knew him. I was so touched by all of the stories told at his funeral services surrounding his life, everything that he accomplished throughout his entire life, & how important his family & friends were to him. He was truly a Saint, & I don’t think you could if asked for a better person, H USB, Father, Grandfather, Friend, or President. Please know that my D thoughts & prayers are with all of your family, & I would like to say Thank you to George H W Bush in heaven for blessing myself & my family with your kindness & great morals during your Presidency if the United States of America. Very Sincerely, Kim Benscoter-Hemm, Washington, Iowa.
