Joshua VanLaningham, 37, of Cedar Rapids, passed away Monday, November 5, 2018, after complications of diabetes. Private services will be held. Stewart Baxter Funeral & Memorial Services, Cedar Rapids, is caring for Josh and his family.
Survivors include his parents, Sandy (Gordon) Estill and Bob VanLaningham (Dan Burkart); sisters, Jennifer VanLaningham, Jessica Estill, and Amanda (Craig) Perkins; grandparents, Lori Wieser and David VanLaningham; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles.
Joshua Ryan VanLaningham was born September 27, 1981, in Manchester, to Bob and Sandy (Wieser) VanLaningham. He attended West Delaware High School, then moved to Cedar Rapids in 1998. Josh worked for Taco Bell for seven years, and enjoyed living a simple life. He liked playing games with his mom, especially chess, and would pick on his sisters.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Chuck Wieser and Evelyn Ort; great-grandparents, Joe and Clara Wieser and Howard Sr. and Gertrude Bachman; and pet dog, Pepper.
