Janet Josephine (Bowers) Cave, 81, of Lisbon, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 13, 2018, at Hiawatha Care Center. Private Graveside Services are being afforded by Stewart Baxter Funeral & Memorial Services, Mount Vernon.
She is survived by her daughters, Jodie (David) Smith of Hiawatha, and Jill (Jeff) Kobza of the Philippines; and grandchildren, Madisen Smith, Jacob Kobza, and Luca Kobza.
Janet was born in Lisbon to Paul and Mary (Helmer) Bowers on December 1, 1936. She married the love of her life, Kenneth Cave, at the Little Brown Church in Nashua. Janet devoted her life to caring for her children and her parents. She also served as bookkeeper for Little Bandit Lumber in Lisbon, which Ken co-owned.
'My grandmother was the most strong-willed person I've ever known. She fought through her darkest days as quick-witted as ever, until she was ready to once again be with her loving husband, my grandfather. For that I admire her. She taught me how to be strong, love fiercely, and put others' needs before her own every single day. I will miss her dearly, but will carry that piece of her with me forever."
The family would like to thank Dr. Mary Anne Nelson and the staffs of Hiawatha Care Center, and Emery Place, for their kind and compassionate care.
Janet was preceded in death by her husband and parents

Memorials can be made to the American Heart Association.
Jodi and Jill,
I have such fond memories of your Mom and Dad. Being at their wedding and and celebrating holidays with the Bowers family when children all were small. You have my deepest sympathy in her passing. May God wrap his loving arms around you and give you peace.

Dear Jodie and Jill and your families. I feel so sad in my heart today knowing that your Mom’s graveside service is this afternoon. You have lost both your parents in a little more than a year. That’s so hard. Just know that you’re all in my prayers for not only TODAY but for the hard days ahead. I so enjoyed it when I walked by their house and they were both working on the yard and took the time to think back with me. So special!, Love you both– sending hugs!

Janet is definitely missed here at Hiawatha care center. It was my pleasure being able to care for such a sweet lady.

Dear Family of Janet Cave, My wife and I extend our sympathy to you on the death of your mother, Janet. She was a classmate of mine at Lisbon High School and was sorry to hear of her death. I also knew her late husband, Kenny. Sincere Sympathy, Roger and Barbara Dolan
Janet was one of my best pals at Lisbon High. We had a huge amount of good times! There were many “Slumber Party’s’ at The Bowers Home. Mary always prepared tuna salad sandwiches, chips & pop for a late night snack. Paul never complained of the giggling. They were fun and kind people—always so good to me. I am grateful to have known these three. Anita Smith Hopkins
