Survivors of her wonderful family include: son, Jim Sullivan; siblings, Ann (Mike) Webb, Joan (Jim) Friberg, Nancy (Fred) Kindgren, and John (Marcie) Bryant; eleven nieces and nephews; several great-nieces and 'nephews; a wealth of many friends she cherished and who cherished her; and extended family members. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Lynne Mary Bryant was born September 22, 1945, in Los Angeles, California, to John and Imelda (Murphy) Bryant. She attended St. Joseph's Academy in Des Moines, graduating in 1963. She earned her Bachelors of Science degree in 1967 at Clark College. Lynne worked as a Chemist with Swiss Valley, Land O'Lakes, and the University of Iowa labs, where she retired from. Lynne's favorite and most recent job was caring for babies and preschool children, where she was known as Miss Lynne.
She belonged to many church groups and prayer circles and enjoyed playing bridge and mahjong. Lynn enjoyed gifts with Irish themes, and had many artistic talents, including glass art, painting, and window crafts.
I will always cherish my friendship with Lynne. We shared Lots of fun and laughter and helped one another through the tough times, too. Lynne will forever be remembered for her generosity, honesty, integrity, authenticity and loyalty. I trust she’s in God’s care and is with heavenly friends and family now.
Lynne was a devoted chemist and a fantastic person. She so enjoyed our lakeside retreat and the pontoon boat ride here, gathered with friends, not long before we learned of her illness. It was with sadness today that I read of her passing. She so kindly influenced so many people that she will live on in our collective memories. Mary Gilchrist
Lynne and I were both in the Class of ’63 at St. Joseph Academy in Des Moines. I, and all of our SJA classmates, are so glad we had the chance to reconnect with her at our 50th reunion in 2013. (See attached picture of Lynne taken at the reunion.) Gone much too soon. Rest in peace, Lynne.
I will always remember Lynne and her smile. She could make me laugh too. Enjoyed knowing her from the time we were at Hygienic Laboratory. Sympathy to the family. Dorothea Moberly
Dear family of Lynne. What a remarkable woman, who raised her son as a single mom and was an example of just how to do this best. I knew Lynne since her son Jim was in early grades, through high school. Everything from Scouting to Academic Studies to Football! And we stayed in touch through All Saints Parish. Blessings to your memory, Lynne. Pat Martin
Lynne will always hold a special place in my heart as a cherished friend and colleague. We shared many great memories starting over 28 years ago at the State Hygienic Laboratory and far beyond that. She was with our family when our daughter, Kennedy took her first steps, and earlier this year even when Lynne wasn’t feeling well she still came out to cheer on Kennedy’s soccer team in the rain. I feel so blessed for so many wonderful memories I have with Lynne and the wisdom that she passed on to me. She was one special lady! Beth Hochstedler
Hi Jim and Family of Lynne,
We are thinking about you at this sad time. We are sorry we could not attend the services for Lynne . Lynne was a special person that always had a smile for everyone. We met Lynne many years ago when you and our son Tom went to school and played baseball together.

Oh dear I am so sad to hear about Lynne. What a beautiful person inside and out who made me smile. I can hear her voice and laugh so clearly in my head. A one of a kind woman who gave great hugs and called me Emmy. My love goes out to the entire Bryant family and especially to Jim. I will be there in spirit on Monday.
I am saddened to hear of Lynne’s passing. Our deepest sympathy to Jim, Lynne’s family and friends. I am sorry that I cannot attend Lynne’s service. Through the many years that I worked with Lynne, I enjoyed the interesting and often long discussions about various topics. She will be missed.
Lynne was my mother’s best friend and will always be remembered as a big part of our family. Will miss her great laugh and positive attitude. Jimmy, our deepest sympathies are with you!

To Jimmy and the Family of Lynne,
We love sweet, caring, fun, beautiful, positive, and loving Lynne! She was Geri’s Best and Loyal friend; a part of the Michael and Geri Rice Family; and a part of the Callahan Family. Lynne was always there for all of the Rices, and the Callahan family …either in person or by phone… in the sad times and in the happy times. We loved spending time with her in Wheaton when she drove from Cedar Rapids
to Geri and Mike’s house for Thanksgiving! And, one year she even stayed at Holly Court with our Mom, Mrs. Callahan, before going to Kerry Rice Hazelton’s Wedding. We loved it when she came to Naples at Geri and Mike’s condo. Geri, and Mike, and Lynne, Kathleen, Shannon, and Helen always had a wonderful time together in Florida! She often talked about her son, Jimmy whom she loved soooo very, very much!
We all will miss miss her terribly …her beautiful smile , her fun loving laugh, and her warm and wonderful caring ways. She was an amazing and positive person. I’m sure when the the good Lord met you,Lynne,, and wrapped his arms around you, He said, “Well done good ,and faithful servant”.
Say Hello to all the Callahans and Rices up there. You will always be in our hearts and minds!
Rest in peace. One day we will see you again!
Love,
Kathleen Callahan O’Brien and Helen Callahan
Jim, I am so very sorry to hear that you lost your mom. I used to see her at the UI when I worked there and she was the kindest person. Please accept my sincere condolences, Kristen Weber
