Ed was born to Richard and Ethel (Grim) Eiselstein in Muscatine, Iowa, on October 18, 1946. He grew up on the family farm in Olin. Ed chose to serve his country in the United States Navy. He married Jeanne Smith with whom he had two sons; they later divorced. Ed worked for Weyerhaeuser and then International Paper in shipping and receiving.
He was a kind and humble man who thought himself extremely funny. His corny jokes endeared him to many at the Swisher Legion and with his Bible group. He enjoyed his motorcycles, hotrods, and was a big Western Movie fan.
Ed was preceded in death by his parents.
Memorials may be directed to the family for donation.
Deepest sympathies to Ed’s family. I remember riding the bus with him years ago.
Do remember his sister Alberta, a fellow nurse at St.Lukes and then at Crestview in Marion.
Obituary indicates he had a full life. Rest In Peace Ed.
So sad to hear of Ed’s passing – he was a super guy – I worked with him for many years at Weyerhaeuser Co. – he was always willing to do whatever it took to get the job done – we could always count on him – plus he was just a friendly guy and jokester – he will be missed —
