Richard Leroy Hartman, 80, of Marion, died Saturday, September 9, 2017. Richard was born March 18, 1937 in Iowa City, the son of Charles Gene and Dorothy Jane (Dale) Hartman. He married his love, Mary Catherine Neal, on February 6, 1965 in Cedar Rapids. A fun loving man, Richard enjoyed playing cards, fishing for catfish, and camping with his family. He worked as a City Bus Driver for the City of Cedar Rapids. Richard was a kind-hearted person with a great sense of humor.
He is survived by his daughter: Cathy (Mike) Spina, aka Cathy Hart; grandchildren, Rick (Lindsay) Gallo, and Christopher (Johanna Wallace) Gallo; step-grandsons, Sam Spina and Andruw Spina; great-grandchildren, Faith Mae, and Isaac Brian Gallo; brother, Dan (Rhonda) Hartman; many nieces and nephews; and dear friend, Everett Mysak.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary; siblings, David John 'Jack' (Dorothy Jo) Hartman, Charles Hartman, Donna (Bill) Hood, Vicki (Myron) Raas, Robert (Nancy) Hartman, and Nellie Hartman; and grandson, Casey Daniel Gallo.

To Richard’s family,
I am sorry for you loss. Dick was a sweet man. We talked often of Mary & his family & of his time driving city bus. He was so proud of Cathy & other family members. I miss him at activities, he liked to joke & talk with others. His winnings at bingo were always centered around what he could give to his family. He loved gong to the casino & could hardly wait until he went again.
Condolences to the Hartman family. Our thoughts and prayers go out to your whole family. Psalms 147:3 says God, “heals the broken hearted, and binds up their wounds.” May God bring you comfort and peace.

I’m a CNA at Crestview Acres Hollywood as we called him was a blessing to us caring sweet and just an awesome person I love him so much and he always called me his sweetheart I will miss him so much I didn’t cry because I’m happy that he is reunited with his wife whom he loved so much and know he is with her and that makes me do happy you will be missed every single day Hollywood I love you 💕❤️😘
