  2. I worked for Ken, as a secretary at Grant Wood AEA from 1979-1986. He was a strong influence and mentor at a critical time in my life. He taught me a great deal about life and about people. He also taught me how to discreetly handle his unexplained absences from the building. I remember his cars and all the bantering and teasing that went on between him and Bud Fiedler. We shared a lot of laughs, and I will always remember him with fondness. My heart goes out to his family in this time of loss.
Rest in Peace, Ken. I’ll never forget you.

  3. Thoughts and prayers are with you all – enjoyed serving Ken his meals at the nursing home – it was always a pleasure to talk to him. He is no longer in pain. Thinking of you all.

    • Thank you! We loved how you cared for dad. We are all so appreciative of all of you at the care center. Thank you for your unending love and care. And oh the laughs! We were glad you were able to laugh with him!

    • Thank you for your wonderful care of our dear father. We are so grateful for those at the Care Center who provided comfort and care to him. ~daughter, Nicole Dunkel

  4. What a great guy and is leaving us such a great legacy with my best buddy Kelly. Ken will be greatly missed by all.
Sending condolences to your entire family.
    Sincerely
    Chris and Susan Lamont

  5. I worked with Ken at Grant Wood AEA as another management person. And since I lived in Mount Vernon part of that time, we even carpooled to work. What a fun guy! He was so witty with his sly humor! I will most remember the time a group of us were in charge of the Fall All-Agency Inservice for all staff, and we wanted to do something fun and unifying. So we used the Star Wars theme and produced a video with Ken as the star on the roof of our building, either chasing someone else or being chased….I can’t remember. (It was a flat roof). Anyway, it was hilarious and he was a great sport. In fact, I think he really enjoyed it! He could have been an actor! If there was any chance for a prank, Ken was up for it! My deep sympathy to the family…I’m sorry I wasn’t aware that he was in a care center and in pain….I would have certainly visited him. Kay Graber

  6. With loving thoughts of you today and always Dad. We will keep you close always. ~Nicole (Coley) Dunkel, daughter.
