Guestbook

  1. My husband Richie and I were next door neighbors to Merle and Marilyn for 30 years. He was always so funny and whenever I would bake Rhubarb Crisp, I would take some over to them. Merle always loved it. We moved after thirty years, and whenever I was in Princeton, I would stop in. He would always ask me, “So, when are you moving back kid?”He disliked the couple who had purchased our house. No upkeep at all, and it looked like back-words people lived there. We, on the underhand took meticulous care of the yard and flower beds.I was shocked to see his name in the obituary this morning. I will forever remember Merle. He had taken some wonderful pictures of the Eagles that would fly in the wintertime to the Lock and Dam 14.. When we moved to LeClaire, after the 30 years or so in Princeton,, I would call them to see how they were doing. My memories of Merle are deeply embedded in my mind. I will NEVER forget Merle. He was a simple soul with such a good heart. My heart aches for his family.
