Loretta Ann Dvorak, 80, of Cedar Rapids, passed away Saturday, October 8, 2016. There will be a private graveside service on Tuesday, October11, 2016 at St. Wenceslaus Cemetery, in rural Clutier. Survivors include her brothers, Larry Dvorak of Clutier, and Ron (Linda) Dvorak of Traer; sister, Rebecca Swierz of Evanston, IL; 5 nephews and 1 niece; and 13 great-nieces and great-nephews. Loretta was born October 8, 1936, in Marshalltown, Iowa to Lewis and Julia (Kuynka) Dvorak, growing up on the family farm. She graduated from Clutier High School and Cedar Rapids Business College. Loretta worked in investments and insurance at Morris Plan and AEGON Life Insurance. After retirement, she served as a condo association treasurer. She was preceded in death by her parents. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy where Loretta volunteered much of her time for the last several years.

  1. As I knew Lori she was a very good friend — possibly like a sister. She was a warm and caring person who loved her family. She recalled to me many times the joy of the family get togethers including birthdays and holidays. When Lori got her diagnosis she shared that with me personally. I shared with her that I would call her every day , and I did. We chatted about many things, laughed a lot, and often shed a tear. I will truly miss my good friend, LORI. Fondly, Jackie Malone.
