  1. So sorry to hear of the loss of Gregg. I got to know him through industry trade association work on product safety committees. He was always willing to share his insight and experience with others with no expectation of return favour. He will be greatly missed by his colleagues. Deepest sympathy to his family and friends.

  2. Sorry to hear about the loss of Gregg. I first got to know Gregg when I worked for him many years ago in Alabama. He helped with my transition moving south and adjusting to a new work environment. I appreciated his interest in continually learning and helping others learn. I didn’t know at the time that we would both end up bringing our families to Iowa and going through similar transitions here. He made an impact on all those he worked with and will be missed.

  3. Words can not express how much David and I are going to miss Gregg. We had so many wonderful times with both you and Gregg. From riding bikes (where they typically rode more than us but we did not let them know!) to walking trails, day trips and our wonderful trip to Hawaii. He was so good in organizing our outings together. I still laugh when I think of him and David riding the trail in Wisconsin and coming down the trail to us sitting on the picnic bench laughing at the two of them. The trip to Hawaii was amazing and we were so thankful to be included in your family group. He will live in our hearts forever. … Mary & David Stalker

  4. I met Gregg through his contributions to our industry via the Association of Equipment Manufacturers where he was a mentor to many. He was sharp and passionate about his work. I really enjoyed working with Gregg and he will be missed by many who work in our industry, even outside of Terex. Deepest sympathy to Gregg’s family and friends. You are in our thoughts and prayers – Bobcat Company Product Safety Department.

  5. Rest in Peace, Gregg. May God comfort the Austin Family during this very difficult time. Dolores Nickerson, Kellam High School & Virginia Tech, Class of 1983.

  6. Gregg was a wonderful neighbor! He always had a big smile and we can’t begin to count how many times he used his engineering prowess to help with our projects. We remember a great friend as we send our deepest sympathy to Sue and her family.

  7. My unbelievably profound condolences to Gregg’s family! Gregg was just a beautiful soul! Whenever he’d come to CT for a meeting, he would always come into our cubicles to visit and catch up and share stories about his family, etc. It was always such a pleasure to see him because he had such a warm, kind, gentle persona. He was a very special human being! He was more than a co-worker, he was like a family member! I had hoped and prayed he would beat this damn cancer! A true gentleman who will be sorely missed by everyone and anyone that ever had the pleasure of meeting or knowing him! RIP Gregg

  8. My heart is heavy with this news. Gregg had an amazing ability to connect with you with his smile and the twinkle in his eye. When we ushered together at All Saints, there was always relief when you saw him before Mass because you knew then that everything was under control. I genuinely admired Gregg and will hold both he and his family in my thoughts and prayers moving forward. God Bless.

  9. I first met Gregg back in 2006 when I started this position at Caterpillar. The area of Product Safety & Compliance draws good people because of the subject. Gregg was definitely one of them. He was always professional, gave people something to think about, and assisted new people in the field. He was on top of it all a great person. I and many others will miss him. My condolences and the condolences of my Colleagues in Product Compliance and Support at Caterpillar to your family.

    Sincerely
    Chuck Crowell

  10. I had the pleasure of knowing Gregg from going to church at All Saints. He made being an usher a fun thing to do and was always very encouraging of my studies. I’ll miss his smile and the talks about cars and football. He’ll always be in my heart and wish that I had the chance to tell him about my impending this May. See you on the other side Gregg!
