Bill Herdliska

Bill Herdliska, 68, died unexpectedly on April 16, 2016. Graveside Services: 10 a.m. on Saturday, April 23, 2016, at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery, Cedar Rapids, by Rev. Mike Morgan. Arrangements are with Stewart Baxter Funeral & Memorial Services, Cedar Rapids. Bill was born on May 19, 1947, and was a long time resident of Marion, Iowa before moving to live with his brother in Piedmont, South Carolina. Survivors include his brother, Gary Herdliska of Piedmont, South Carolina; and sisters, Lin Madeson (Michael) of Nashotah, Wisconsin, and Debbie Bolton (Michael) of Fort Wayne, Indiana; three nephews; one niece; five great nephews; and three great nieces. He was preceded in death by his mother, Betty Herdliska and father, Richard Herdliska. Bill was a Vietnam Veteran with the 1st Battalion, 1st Regiment 1st Air Calvary Division and was a Purple Heart recipient. Bill enjoyed hunting and fishing as well as gardening.. Bill will forever be remembered for his dedication in caring for his mother, Betty and his grandmother, Helen Markwell during their lifetimes. Memorials to Disabled American Veterans.
