Jacqueline 'Jackie' Kay Schmidt, 47, of Cedar Rapids, passed away Saturday, April 16, 2016, after a courageous battle with cancer. Funeral Services: 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 19, 2016, at St. James United Methodist Church, Cedar Rapids, by Pastor Carol Sundberg. Visitation: 4:30-7 p.m. Monday, April 18, 2016, at Stewart Baxter Funeral & Memorial Services, Cedar Rapids. Burial: Palo Cemetery. Jackie was born May 23, 1967, in Cedar Rapids to Gerald and Janice (Koehn) Reames. She earned a Bachelor's Degree in Education, loved flowers, and spent many years as a gifted florist'white orchids being her favorite. She married Charles W. Schmidt on February 7, 1998, in Cedar Rapids. They had two wonderful boys who she loved dearly. She enjoyed spending time with her beloved family and friends, doing crafts, and she especially liked Irish music. Survivors include her husband, Charles 'Chuck' Schmidt; sons, Cody and Dakota Schmidt; parents, Gerald and Janice Reames; brother, Wayne (Melanie) Reames; sister, Linda (Lee) Klopping; nephews, Levi and Logan (Morgan) Klopping and Teddy Reames; niece, Rory Reames; and many extended family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Merlon and Kathleen Koehn and Glea Konigsmark.

  2. When Dakota and my son dale were young they were inseparable.. We spent many many days with Jackie and Dakota .my best memories of Jackie will always be her smiling face , her great sense of humor and she always made you feel welcome . Jackie loved being a mom and loved her family.rest in peace Jackie.our sons have grown up but I will always remember you ..
