Memories Timeline

Guestbook

  1. I used to live across from Mulligan’s Pub in the Westwood Apt complex. On Tuesdays I would always come over for the $5 pizza. He would always greet me with a smile. Bob, you will be missed dearly. Your friend, Sunshine.

  2. I met Bob as a sophomore in 1978 Kennedy as we were teammates on the football team. Bob became a good friend and I found out we shared the same birthday. Ever time I talked to Bob after high school, he hadn’t changed. Bob was is same old funny self. Rest in Pease my friend. You will be missed.

  3. Dick, Carol and family, I was so surprised to learn of Bob’s passing. I have so many fond memories of growing up with “Bobby”and the gang from the old neighborhood. My sincere sympathy to all of you. May he rest in peace.

  4. I am so surprised and saddened by the news of Bob’s passing. What a kind and solid guy. My deepest condolences to his family.

  5. I am so saddened to hear of his passing. Bob was one of the kindest and most genuine people I’ve ever know. My condolences to his family. Rest in peace, B.O.B.

  6. I had to come to know Bob through mutual friends and we all got together during March Madness each year for the past 25 years or so. I have had some of the most engaging conversations with Bob on varied subjects, least of all, sports. Bob was well rounded, nice, thoughtful and just plain fun to be around. I will miss Bob and those conversations and I will miss commiserating with him in general. I was a richer person to have known Bob, and my prayers are with his family in this time of sorrow. He will be missed.

  7. I am so sorry to hear of Bob’s passing. I remember fondly being the extra daughter at the Lilledahl home. Whenever Bob was around he would find something to tease me about; I still use the lanabanana nickname he gave me sometime in elementary school. He was a great guy and although I haven’t seen him in years, I can tell by other tributes that he hadn’t changed. Prayers and hugs to all of you.

  8. We will miss Bob a great deal. He was my husband’s roommate at the University of Iowa and we always enjoyed catching up with him when we visited Iowa. He was tossing and tickling our boys in 2005 at Paddy O’Rourkes and in 2013 joking around with them at Mulligans. He was a truly kind soul. Our heartfelt condolences to his family.

  9. I had come to know Bob when he was my brothers roommate at the University of Iowa. I still to this day hold many memories of some of the most enjoyable times of my life spent with Bob, my brother and many of his friends. The residence of South Linn St. was a place where everyone was welcome; either it be for a Hawkeye Football game, a friendly game of backyard badmitton, a trip to the Vine or just hanging out and jamming to a great lineup of music! Our thoughts and prayers are with the Lilledahl family at this time.

  10. Sending prayers to family and friends, I am sorry to hear of his passing. Was a class mate of Bob’s at Kennedy… RIP Bob…. you will be missed!

  11. I met Bob after high school, probably at a party thru mutual friends. It was impossible to not like the guy from the minute you met him. We both ended up at Iowa and eventually became roommates. We had a good time, probably too good, begging Jo to take us to the Reservoir, hitting the bar scene, doing anything but studying it seemed. We had fun playing badminton, horseshoes, going camping, and just hanging out. Nothing too strenuous and most involved some 12 or 16 ounce curls. I moved to California and always hoped Bob would someday follow but his Iowa roots were deep. He did visit and we had a great time comparing our worn “flip flops”, hitting the beaches, the bars and Tijuana. (Sorry, I can’t post Bob’s “Tijuana Top Ten” list here!). I didn’t see Bob a lot over the past 30 years but when we did, it was like time never past. Bob will be truly missed by everyone and my deepest sympathies and prayers to his family. I really wish I could be there to celebrate Bob’s life. Hey Bob – make sure you save me a pair of flip flops in Heaven!

  12. Extending deepest sympathy for your loss. I knew Bob from Kennedy High School and he was a good friend to all. He always had a gentle smile and a kind word to say. Thoughts and prayers for you and your family during this difficult time. Holly (Crocker) Kortum

  13. My experiences with Bob are very similar to those posted by Steve Winn (I was one of the South Linn residents and we seemed to always be together) so I won’t repeat. Bob had a kind soul and was somewhat of a stabilizing force during those times. Condolences to the Family and all others.

  14. I was sorry to learn of Bob’s passing. I graduated with Bob at Kennedy and then saw him many times when at school in Iowa City. I then ran into him at Mulligan’s a while back. He often had a smile on his face and a kind word to share. My deepest sympathy to you and your family during this difficult time.
