Thomas Robert Weber, 65, of Cedar Rapids, died on Tuesday, December 29, 2015, at Mercy Medical Center, Cedar Rapids of an apparent heart attack. Funeral Service: Noon on Saturday January 2, 2016, at St. Jude Catholic Church, by Rev. Mark Reasoner. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service at the church. Arrangements are with Stewart Baxter Funeral & Memorial Services, Cedar Rapids. Survivors include his wife, Lou Ann; son, Noah of Bakersfield, California; siblings, Janet Heery of Dyersville, Iowa; Eldon Weber of Cascade, Iowa, and Terry Weber of Seminole, Florida; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Janice (Virgil) Bries of Luxemburg, Iowa, Patsy (Lavern) Goedken of Holy Cross, Iowa, Henry (Alma) Bockenstedt of Edgewood, Iowa, George (Barb) Bockenstedt of Toddville, Iowa; and Nancy (Neil) Henkenius of Manchester, Iowa; many nieces and nephews; and his dogs, Clara and Lucy. Tom was born on November 28, 1950, in Dyersville, Iowa, the son of Ed and Helen (Hess) Weber. He graduated from Beckman High School in 1969, and also attended Coe College. Tom briefly served in the US Navy and then spent over 42 years at Cherry-Burrell, retiring in 2012. On September 27, 1980, he married Lou Ann Bockenstedt in Petersburg, Iowa. He enjoyed working in his garden, fishing, painting, and restoring antique furniture. Tom also was a fan of the Hawkeyes, Bears, and White Sox. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, Ronald and Dennis. Memorials are suggested to the Mercy Medical Center Foundation or Last Hope Animal Rescue.

  6. We met Tom this fall, when we did some painting at their house. What a great man—so organized and knew exactly how he wanted the room to look when complete.
